Our tutor, Phil Richardson is a CIMA qualified accounting professional with 11 years PQE.
I enjoy talking to people and making learning a little more interesting than the average accounting text book. My strengths as a tutor are that I use practical examples that are easy to understand when explaining complex theories or concepts. I also avoid jargon! I believe making learning fun will make you remember it, and make you look forward to the next session.
My main subject area covers Accounting and its various guises. I specialise in Management Accounting and the business aspects of Accounting. As studying to qualify covers many areas I offer tutoring in these fields too.
I am a qualified CIMA accountant with 10 years post qualification experience. I also have a degree in Accounting and A Levels in Accounting and Economics.
I have experience of accounting within several industries. I have worked within Property, Financial Services and Manufacturing. I use these experiences to help explain concepts within Accounting and also to give the student extra material to answer the exam question. During this time I have successfully mentored and coached several employees through their professional examinations.
I teach mainly from A Level upwards. I currently have an Enhanced Disclosure CRB Certificate. I am currently working at a Private School. I am a member of CIMA.
Any first meeting would be free to discuss your individual needs and approach. After this the rates quoted on the What We Charge page will apply. I will reduce the fee for group lessons - please feel free to get in touch so we can negotiate a rate.
I will teach at either my home, your home or a mutual meeting point. I can travel easily to Wimborne, Poole, Bournemouth and the surrounding area. I will also travel to Blandford, Southampton, most areas of Dorset and South Hampshire, but I may charge a prearranged fee to cover travel expenses.
I am available most evenings and weekends. More information is also available on Tutor Pages.
We also offer a mentoring service for people new to bookkeeping.
Most people starting out as a bookkeeper should have some experience or qualification behind them. But all too often exams or experience in a large company don't give you all of the practical experience that you need. Compliance with regulations such as Money Laundering, Data Protection etc can be confusing, as can the complex world of the HMRC and Companies House.
We would be happy to assist new bookkeepers, by providing basic start-up training, assistance with HMRC practices, and general help and advice with specific client issues (prior authorisation with the client being agreed). We can help you get your new business up and running, and give you the all important confidence to take you from strength to strength.
We can also provide an ongoing source of support and advice from a qualified CIMA accountant. Our rates are shown on the What We Charge page.
